I will introduce to you my new webSPELL addon:

webSPELL 4.2.2a Clan Forum Register Bridge

This addon allows you to register on webSPELL and create an user account on your Forum the same time.
You can choose between 7 Forum Bridges:

- IP.Board 3.0.3
- MyBB 1.4.11
- phpBB 3.0.7-pl1
- SMF 1.1.11
- vBulletin 4.0.2
- Burning Board 3.0.9
- Burning Board 2 Lite

It has only been tested with the above mentioned versions, but it should/could work with other versions as well.

Install:

Just copy all files from the ZIP to your webSPELL Root, and then run 'install-forum.php'.
File can be deleted after a successful installation.

Config:

Configuration is done in the Admincenter under 'Forum Bridge' in the left menu.
You need the MySQL data for your Forum, like Database, Host, Username, Password and Prefix.

Just a little update to help people with errors.
I added some minor debug options to the register.php, which I already included in the ZIP file.
Just re-download the ZIP file, and replace the register.php on your server/webhost with the one from the ZIP file.

Debug is turned off by default.
To turn it on, go to line 156, and change:

define(FORUMREG_DEBUG, 0);


from 0 to 1

With this, it will print a little debug during registration, which you can copy&paste.
I also raised the refresh timer to 10 sec for the debug, so should be enough time to capture the debug.

So if you are facing some problems with the Addon, just add the debug, paste into the thread that you have problems, and PM me the Debug outputs.

Old site users, get a profile in the forum? Or do they have to register again?

Only for new users at the moment.
I might add a sync option to it later, where you can Sync users WS <=> Forum, both ways.

Now this is only a registration bridge, it doesn't keep them simultaneously logged in?

I know what you mean but the weather seems to have taken a turn for the worse over here in wet old england... I know this is a little off topic but i think its still slightly related is there any way of integrating your forum choice into the site themselves so when u click forum your boards show inside the site instead of the webspell ones? guessing something like its own static page? I did manage to find something like what I was after when i searched but that stopped at phpbb v3.3...

Hi, this works but a couple issues. When the users are registered, they don't show up under the statistics, ie) it won't add to the "total number of users registered"

Any update on the login sync or the issue in the above quote?

Edit: I found a manual fix for the "total number of users registered". If you have PHPBB3.0.7PL1 just login to admin and run Resynchronise statistics. That will update it right for now, till derchris and code a real fix. lächeln

Edit2: Just found a new issue when you go to delete members if you remove there main site account it will not remove them from the forums member table. The member table for phpbb3.0.7 is phpbb_users. All that is needed is to code a SQL statement to remove the wanted user name from this table.

Got this when I tried registering:

# error=Duplicate entry '1279666800' for key 1
# query=INSERT INTO `mybb_stats` ( `dateline`, `numusers`, `numthreads`, `numposts` ) VALUES ('1279666800', '4', '2', '4')


Edit: It creates a new account in the forum and on webspell, just reports back with an error though.

mybb is a great forum.

When users register on the site and the it registers them forums, the user can't access the forum with the user name and password " says does not exsit" Also when I try to give the permission it says user name don't exsit?
Can anyone help? Is there something I'm doing or not doing? Please help users are getting frustrated.

so does this add-on actually call your forum to take the place of the default one ? like my forum will load in the content area of where the default forum is now? if so is there a more specific way this has to be installed because i installed the forum bridge and did the setup with mybb database info i update the settings and nothing has changed it still looks the same as it did before and did not add the mybb forum in its place unglücklich does the mybb forum install itself have to be inside the webspell root folder or is it okay sitting on my root server ? other than that i follow the instructions to the letter and even hand typed and checked the data base info 3 times so i know its entered correctly. thank you in advance for any help lächeln

very nice but I want to adapt this to include...

1) Register on phpBB aswell as webspell (done)
2) Replace phpBB users with only WebSPELL users.
3) Keep phpBB users and add WebSPELL users.
4) Session synchronization for login and logout

update soon if that's ok to enhance your addon?

its working great but there is some problems with it.
first if of it does add you to phpbb too but it doesnt show on latest member that you have joined.
and syncing the current users can be great amüsiert

This is a great project. I appreciate the work that went into this. Ihope development continues. Tonight, I plan to give it a try with mybb. I would gladly pay for a working integration for mybb or a better integration product with continued development.

But I can't comment on when this could be done, as there is also other stuff I want/have to do first.

Hello can some body get this going again.
i have a problem i am using vBulletin. i have got the forum and site connected , but when somebody posts on the forum the user title is guest and who ever has posted it cant edit or del; it's as if they never posted it, but it shows their name in the post. http://www.frag-nation...do-I-register-for-FIFA-12
