After over 4 years there is a major change in the webSPELL project. Since the beginning of the development in april 2005 webSPELL was a private project under the lead of blue.tiger, this is going to change now.

In march this year most of the members of the webSPELL attended a meeting (we reported about this in our blog) and we founded the society webSPELL. Since 07.07.2009 this society is incorporated at the county court Waiblingen (Germany) and will further carry the name webSPELL e.V.

The purpose of this incorporated society is to mantain, administer and support the webSPELL project and its webpage. The further development of the content management system and the support for our numerous users will be in the centre of our efforts. Currently the incorporated society consists of 8 members (as of 02.09.09, 21:00), most of them members of the webSPELL team. The executive council, consisting of Stefan 'k3rmit' Giesecke (executive director), Daniel 'TwisteD' Steih (2nd chairman) and Florian 'blue.tiger' Siegmund (1st chairman), will lead the further actions of the webSPELL e.V.

With immediate effect the incorporated society webSPELL e.V. will be responsible for the complete webSPELL project.

With this step we do not only want to improve regarding legal and economic aspects, but also - in accordance with the spirit of open source - open us even more to the users and fans of the webSPELL project. Everyone can apply for a membership in the incorporated society and influence the further evolution of webSPELL. Interested parties should have a look at our membership application (currently only available in german language, we will supply a english version soon) and our constitution.

We will henceforth publish further information and decisions of the incorporated society webSPELL e.V.
