webSPELL 4.2.0a Release
The first warm sunbeams are touching earth and granting new life to the flora and fauna. The spring flowers are lifting their heads and are showing us the colors in their blossoms. Also the work of the webSPELL development team breeds new flowers: the long awaited webSPELL Release 4.2.0a
This release includes the most work which was ever invested in any webSPELL release. The number of codelines was more than tripled to 110.000 lines of code during the 28 months development time. According to this we also have by far the biggest
changelog ever, more than 1100 lines of changes.
Well... what was done? The biggest changes were the result of the development of a multi language system, which you all already know from webspell.org. With a lot of help of the commnity we achieved to deliver 14 translations in different languages with this new release. A big thank you again to all the translators!
Another main focus of the development was the security of webSPELL. A lot of single point security problems have been fixed and global functions have been added to increase the protection from popular attack methods.
The code of the current release is 100% XHTML valid, all PHP notices have been removed.
Furthermore hundreds of smaller changes and improvements have been done, more in our changelog linked above.
As you may have already noticed our version numbering has changed a little bit too. We removed the leading zeros in the subversion numbers and we added a character at the end, which will show you the security fix versions in the future.

bugtracker system during the development time which will now be available to the public for reporting bugs in the webSPELL CMS.
Notice for owners of addon and template pages
It is very important to mark templates and addons with the version number of webSPELL they are compatible with. There will be massive compatibility problems with old addons or templates used on the new webSPELL release. We will soon add some articles in our blog for supporting you with the needed knowledge about important changes in the new webSPELL version.
