I love webspell, but for the vast majority it is not as user friendly as it could be. If you ever want to expand your audience, a theme and plugin system is going to be your best bet, from there maybe some sort of block/layout and menu customization from the admin panel. I realize these ideas require huge rewrites, but they should have been there from the planning stages. Webspell is a great cms, a huge step for clans everywhere, and it shames me to have to pass it by due to these missing features.

the vast majority of our user dont need any theme changing system at all. they are proud of their own unique design or they are happy enough with a selected free design they can identify themselves with. so we are not planning to implement a multitheme switcher.


we are already constantly expanding our audience, even faster and faster each month.

Just want to add, when i say expand your audience i am referring to the non web developers. I am going to be setting up clans with a website, and i am trying to set them up to not require any web development experience and still have a great site. I agree the theme system shouldn't be necessary for most of the people on these forums, but for people who don't create themes or know how it is very important. The plugin and menu system however would be great for everyone.

I agree with you a more non-experienced programmer friendly environment of webspell would be nice, webspell is great but I am use to using a more structured system like MGL/EGL ladder systems..webspell has no theme folder to use, everything is thrown into the main folder so it kinda hard to figure out where to start..
